Americans are estimated to spend 41 % of their food dollars on foods eaten outside the home, up from 26 % in 1970. To cash in on this trend, two  I-Bankers of Indian origin have exciting plans to re-engineer that South Indian breakfast delicacy, the dosa!

This interesting article in the Times of India shows how Jawahar Chirimar and Sam Subramaniam came together to float this idea. They will invest $5 million to start with to open five restaurants in New York over the next 12 months. Let’s hope their ventures do well.

If the Americans can expose Indians to French fries and burgers, and get them hooked, why not do the same to them with our delicious dosas?
