Would you agree that life is an endless balancing act? We are forever balancing something or the other as we struggle to meet our goals. For some it is balancing between the demands at work and the responsibilities at home, for others it could be balancing between the need to travel and the need to spend time with family. There could be many other conflicting priorities which we face in our day-to-day lives.

I have come across several cases where another balancing act has caused considerable stress. The need to balance the demands of your mother and your wife! Many young people face this additional stress point, even as they battle with the many other things that make life so tough even without this headache. Fortunately, this, like most other problems is not an insurmountable problem. It calls for a certain amount of tact, sensitivity towards others and the ability to communicate assertively and on time.

Clinical psychologist Salma Prabhu shares her advice on how this pressing problem can be resolved in a recent article in The Times of India.
