At top management level, the last thing a good CEO would want is to have a team of “yes”  men, or women, as the case may be.  To be really effective, top teams should have members with complementary skills. Shrewd CEOs have realized the value of avoiding the temptation of hiring clones who think like them and talk like them.

I read in this article in the New York Times how Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook dealt with the issue. His choice of  Ms. Sheryl Sandberg as COO has proved to be of immense value to Facebook. Ms. Sandberg is an MBA from Harvard and earlier worked for Google.
