If you are interested in getting the best out of your people and being prepared to proactively deal with people issues, I would recommend that you track the on going series ” Carnival of HR and Leadership” started quite some time ago by the “Evil HR Lady”. Once when I was talking to a senior executive and mentioned this interesting series, he said ” Isn’t it mainly for HR folk” ? I told him that it was useful for everyone dealing with people.
I am glad he agreed with me once he had read some of the posts in the carnival. The ” carnival ” is hosted by turn by bloggers who put together- once in two weeks, I believe- their selection of the best posts which capture what’s going on in the blog sphere in matters HR and Leadership.
The September 17 Carnival was hosted by Alvaro Fernandez. He is the Co-Founder & CEO of SharpBrains and needs to be complimented for a brilliant job. Alvaro has used an innovative style where the different blog posts are presented as a lively Q & A brown-bag lunch discussion. This is, I guess, one example of sharp brains.
And yes, this was one lunch I enjoyed attending.
The Carnival is booked well into the next year. I look forward to the privilege of hosting the Carnival on August 5, 2009.
