In India today, September 5, is celebrated as Teachers’ Day. It happens to be the birthday of one of India’s most illustrious sons- Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. He was the second President of India from May 1962 to May 1967. When we see the low standards of modern day politicians who perpetually seek self- grandizement, we remember with remorse stalwarts like Dr. Radhakrishnan. Only yesterday, CNN-IBN showed Dinesh Chandra Yadav, newly appointed Minister of Floods in Bihar keep relief work waiting for 30 hours till he reached to formally cut the ribbon to open a relief camp. This in a state where millions have been affected by floods.
