It was common for Indians heading abroad on work assignments to undergo training on the cultures of the countries they were heading to.

India’s booming economy has seen a big increase in expats working here on assignment from their parent countries in the US, Europe and Far East .

The wheel has turned a full circle and we see expats attending programs to help them adapt to the culture in India.

Global firms are recommending such classes for their employees to bridge differences between “home and host country” and absorb culture shocks as they work in the economy considered to be the hottest after China.

After all isn’t getting to master the local culture crucial for success ? Without such training many expats find the culture and environment strange and baffling in comparison with that of their home countries.
