Interesting to know that the Amul girl has recently completed 40 years! The Amul girl ads. have always been topical, full of humour and creative. A great part of the credit should go to DaCunha Communications -creators of the Amul girl way back in 1967.

Amul has become a household name in India and one of the reasons for its popularity over the years has been its brilliant advertising.

Amul incidentally is the brand name for the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd (GCMMF) that sells dairy products. It is possibly the best example of co-operative business. It has 2.6 million producer members who handle 10.16 million litres of milk per day.

GCMMF became a billion-dollar entity in March 2007.
