My alma mater, good old XLRI at Jamshedpur celebrates its 54th Annual Convocation on March 27, 2010. They seem to be in for an interesting day. The Chief Guest will be Mr. Kumar Mangalam Birla, Chairman of the Aditya Birla Group, one of India’s finest corporate houses. The Convocation is also the occasion when XLRI’s prestigious Sir Jahangir Ghandy Medal for Industrial & Social Justice is announced. This year it goes to Dr. E. Sreedharan, famous all over India as the Man behind the Metro.
The secret to having happy employees is to fire the unhappy ones says Jay Goltz who is a typical entrepreneur who runs five successful small businesses in Chicago, employing more than 100 people. I have found Gautam to be a practical, level headed kind of guy despite all the praise he has received over the years for his professional contributions and constant search for innovation.
