You did a fantastic job outlining each of these "what not to do" for leaders. It's too bad that many in leadership roles do not realize just how important they are. For me, item #4 regarding ambiguity and expectations, cannot be stressed enough. A leader has many responsibilities, and eliminating ambiguity for his/her team is critical. By prioritizing and providing clarity, a leader is better able to unleash their team's potential. I recently created a video podcast that touches on several of these points. For me, item #4 regarding ambiguity and expectations, cannot be stressed enough. A leader has many responsibilities, and eliminating ambiguity for his/her team is critical. By prioritizing and providing clarity, a leader is better able to unleash their team’s potential.

For me, point 1 may have it's place in certain situations, but if you have to resort to this tactic, you probably haven't done your groundwork and it will not be successful in the long run.
